Faith for the Process
Updated: Mar 19, 2019
Many of us have faith for the miracle…
for the moment of victory…
for the final fulfillment of a promise from God…
But we also need to develop our faith for the process that is often required as we walk toward the miracle.
Transformation requires process. Yes there are seasons of acceleration – sometimes overnight, even instant, miraculous change. But most of the time it requires a process.
Change and transformation requires endurance (perseverance) through that process. The path is often riddled with obstacles, at times overrun with the weeds of our own planting (our bad habits, negative attitudes, wrong motives) that hinder our progress. The process usually requires us to face the obstacles and to get busy weeding.
But we can have Grace in the process! Peace and joy can be ours. Grace under pressure. This only comes by turning our hearts towards Him.
Practice Quietness in the process. Being still. Observing. Recognizing and discerning where God is working in the midst of everything. Even when what we are living is not what we have envisioned, we can still follow the trace of His hand weaving the thread of purpose through every situation, if we will but remain surrendered to that Hand.
The Process will always bring discomfort. God allows discomfort to get us moving, but He never brings fear! When we look at what is making us uncomfortable we can ask God to help us recognize it for what it is. He will show us what we must do in the midst of the discomfort; but do not embrace fear. Fear is not of God.
So, just as Paul told the believers in Rome, I pray over you…
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)
Don’t fear the process. Have faith for what He is doing in you.
He is with you -
